About Us

Funtington Players are a friendly group that aims to produce amateur drama to a high standard. We perform twice a year in April and November for five nights, at The Village Hall, West Ashling. This has been the venue for our performances since 1946.

In normal times we have an active social programme which includes club nights, summer outdoor theatre, workshops and studios, a 12th Night Dinner and a summer barbecue. Nowadays we continue our drama activities via Zoom.

A new venture in 2019 was  ACT WRITE DIRECT, where members were invited to write a short script for a review evening performed in the round. This not only encouraged new work but gave extra opportunities for those who wished to act or direct and were not in the main production. See more about this project in NEWS & EVENTS.

We warmly welcome new members. Those who do not wish to take to the boards will find there are many ways to have fun with the FPs. You may wish to try your hand at something new, or simply to enjoy the productions and take part in the social activities.

If you are interested in becoming a member and would like to come along and see what we do, use the contact page to send a message, and our New Members Secretary will contact you.

The cost of Funtington Players membership is £12 per annum.

Funtington Players are members of NODA and of PORTSMOUTH AMATEUR DIARY
