About Us
Funtington Players are a friendly group that produces amateur drama to a high standard. We perform twice a year in April and November for five nights, at The Village Hall, West Ashling. This has been the venue for our performances since 1946.
In normal times we have an active social programme which includes club nights, workshops and studios, a 12th Night Dinner and a summer barbecue. During lockdown we continued our drama activities via Zoom. See
A venture started in 2018 was ACT WRITE DIRECT, where members were invited to write a short script for a review evening performed in the round. This not only encouraged new work but gave extra opportunities for those who wished to act or direct and were not in the main production. This project has grown in significance since then. We warmly welcome new members. Those who do not wish to take to the boards will find there are many ways to have fun with the FPs. You may wish to try your hand at something new, or simply to enjoy the productions and take part in the social activities.
